Donnie Shaffer General A&R 200, a F3A, was a trade-in for the GP18; A&R 201; another F3A, was sold to the RF&P in Oct 1952 ...the proceeds from that sale were used against the AR's EMD GP7 205's cost. 2/13/2018 2:05:27 AM
Donnie Shaffer General Reportedly, the 205 is the ONLY GP7 still owned and in service with its original purchaser. In fact, 205 still has its steam generator inside its high short hood, though said generator is not functional. Also the prime mover has never been rebuilt - it still has its original rod and main bearings! 49 years later! 2/13/2018 2:09:52 AM
